Project and Innovation Feasibility Study, Analysis, and Design

Description

Black Box provides technical feasibility services to businesses and organizations who have identified a project or innovation they wish to undertake, but lack the staff of engineers and technicians necessary to conduct technical studies themselves. Determining feasibility requires thorough analysis of the availability of resources, the quality and cost of those resources, project requirements, intended functionality, and the existence and availability of technologies that can serve as components for the innovation.

Why It’s Valuable and How It’s Beneficial

The studies, analyses, and plans created through our \nameref{\hyphenatedName} servic are most useful when they precede requirements specification, development, and implementation services. Our goal is to objectively determine the feasibility, effort, and resources required to carry through a project or innovation. In its simplest form, these services determine feasibility based on the resources required and the value to be attained.

Simply put, technical feasibility services allow businesses and organizations to fully understand if the completion of a project or realization of an innovation is possible, the required resources and effort, and the general outline of how to go from start to finish.

What You Purchase and Receive

The Project and Innovation Feasibility Study, Analysis, and Design service provides our clients with any or all of the following fully completed studies, analyses, and plans.

  1. Feasibility Study: A careful and thorough analysis that uses two criteria to judge feasibility; cost required and value to be obtained. The study comprises historical background of the business and project, description of the product or service, details of the operations and management, marketing research and policies, and financial data.
  2. “Steel Thread” and “Proof of Technology” Proof of Concept: Technical proof of concepts that include all technologies or a single technology within or representing a potential product or solution. The proof comprises the following specifications, designs, plans, and reviews:
    1. Software Requirements Specification (SRS): Documentation of the essential requirements, such as functions, performance, design constraints, and attributes, of the software. The software requirements are derived from the system specification.
    2. Software Design Description (SDD): A representation of software created to facilitate analysis, planning, implementation, and decision making. The software design description is used as a medium for communicating software design information, and may be thought of as a blueprint or model of the system.
    3. Software Verification and Validation Plan (SVVP): A plan containing the policies, procedures, and work instructions for conducting software verification and validation analysis and testing of core system and software requirements found within the corresponding Interface Design Description (IDD) and Software Design Description (SDD) documents.
    4. Software Verification and Validation Report (SVVR): A report containing the results of the verification and validation testing, which provides a full breakdown of the verified correctness and completion of all core requirements within corresponding specification and design documentation.
  3. “Pilot” Proof of Concept: A project management plan that serves as the initial deployment of a minimum viable product containing only crucial functionality and necessary business processes and users. The project
    1. All specifications, designs, plans, and reviews listed above for “Steel Thread” and “Proof of Technology” proof of concepts
    2. Software Project Management Plan (SPMP): A plan containing the policies, procedures, and work instructions for managing a software development project that defines the technical and managerial processes necessary to develop work products that satisfy the product requirements.
